How come Yahoo has so many ads about building muscle?

Every time I read the Yahoo news, I always see an ad on the right that always promotes muscle building. The thing is, it’s not always from the same company. Sometimes I see and ad that promotes muscle growth pills and and ad that talks about natural ways to build muscle or something. How come so many of these ads are coming to Yahoo?

the ads go to whoever pays the most.. right now fitness is the big thing so the fitness and muscle building sites want their ads noticed so they pay the big bucks to get their product placed prominently.. the ads have nothing to do with whether or not Yahoo agrees with them.. it is kind of like the infomercials, where it says the views do not necessarily reflect the opinions of this channel.. yahoo does somewhat try to censor their ads, but only for abusive language content and such, they are not going to take down fitness ads as they do not violate anything.

What is a good muscle building routine that requires no equipment?

Let’s assume I have no weights, no pull-up bar, nothing, as is often the case with me and my travels. What is a good workout that will 1) increase my endurance and 2) build functional but aesthetically pleasing muscle?

Do tons of push ups and other body weight exercises like squats, crunches, planks, running, sprinting, etc. You can put on a backpack with tons of heavy books and do push ups with it. You can also fill milk jugs with sand or water and use those as weights. These are just a few suggestions, there are thousands of ways you can exercise and gain muscle. You won’t gain a ton of muscle because the books and the backpack can only go so far, and the weight will need to be increased in order to gain even more muscle.

What’s the best diet for losing belly fat and building muscle at the same time?

I have some belly fat that I want to get rid of. But I also want to build muscle at the same time. What kind of diet should I follow? I was thinking low-carb and high-protein but I am worried if the low-carb hurts the muscle building and the high-protein will add more fat in the waist region. Please suggest. I am doing weight training and cardio every day. I am 31 male and average built. Thanks.

What are some good muscle building aids?

My brother is in high school, a junior to be exact, and he is a vegetarian. He also plays basketball, baseball, and soccer. His weakness is that he is small and not very strong because of the lack of protein he gets from not eating any meat. I am looking into finding some sort of protein shake mix or something similar for him to help him build muscle and gain weight from lifting. I have heard clif bars are a decent source. I don’t really know. What are your opinions on clif bars, and what are some suggestions you have for anything that may help?

cliff bars wont do it.The problem with protein shakes and cliff bars are they are not complete proteins. I would recommend a Protien Mix that includes Both Whey Protein and Casein Protein. The whey will absorb fast and the casein is sort of like a time release protien so to speak.. it absorbs alot slower.

Can you do cardio while building muscle?

In your workout, if i did muscle building exercises then i went and did some HIIT on cardio for keeping my fat down. Would i build muscle by any chance?

Your body can only store a small amount of glycogen in your muscles for energy. The rest runs in your blood stream. This glycogen is used as energy when you exercise.

When you train your muscles, you use up the glycogen that is stored in your muscles, but also the one that runs in your blood stream. That’s why it is very important to replenish this glycogen soon after you train by drinking or eating carbs.

If you throw in a cardio session immediately after you do your muscle building workout, you won’t have enough glycogen in your body to fuel your cardio workout. Your body has to get energy from somewhere so it will do one of the 2 following things:
1. It converts muscle into energy, or
2. It converts body fat you’ve got stored into energy

Since the process of converting body fat is harder for your body than converting muscle, and since fat is considered vital to your existence (that’s the way the human body functions), your body will opt to convert muscle into energy. In essence, you will be "eating your own muscle"; the one that you worked hard to gain.

If your cardio workout is very intense, your body will have to make energy quickly, so it will convert more muscle into energy. If your cardio workout has a low intensity, your body has more time to be able to convert body fat into energy for you to use.

If you feel you’ve got enough energy left after your muscle building workout, then you can do cardio. But if you feel tired and weak, my advice would be to skip the cardio or do some low intensity activity if you really want to do cardio.

Hope this helps.

Body/Muscle Building : What is the best supplement to use for gaining weight and building muscle?

I want to know from people who use body building type supplements which is the best to use for putting on weight and building muscles, there are so many to offer (Maxi-muscle, Creatine etc) and each one offers something different, just wondeirng if anyone can let me know from personal experience?
I am refering to drink powders, not drugs as the bellend below seems to think.

A good diet with plenty of protein. Do not use drugs, just eat and exercise properly.

MUSCLE BUILDing?

hey guys…iv been going to the gym for like 4 and a half months now, and i do my workouts in splits 4 days a week and the other 3 days i try to do cardio atleast 20 mins. the thing is i havent gotten to much muscle mass, atleast not as much as i thought. im 5′7/5′8, 138lbs and 17 yrs old. im kinda skinny but not sooo much, still have some body fat on my belly but not too much, just the kinda skinny type of guy. What do you guys think im doing wrong??, maybe the eating stuff is what im doing wrong, how much more should i eat or how to not but not to get fat, just build much more muscle mass….PLZZ HELP ME OUT..im getting tired of not seeing my results…..THANKS PPL
ok i got the whole eat more thing down..im not a very good eater..but i guess ill have to make the change..school is what might get in the ways since im there like 8 hours a day and we eat lunch around 10 or 11 o clock..so would you guys reccomend some sort of weight gainer or something like that that will give me more calories..and what happens when someone stops taking weight gainers..how can they lose the fat and stay at the current weight or size for the next summer

I had the same problem. About the same time, 3-4 months i had great progress and I slowed greatly. You’re probably at the point now when you need to start increasing your calorie intake. Feel out how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight and try exceeding that by about 300-500 calories. Try eating at least a decent amount of protein (appx.110 grams), and amino acids. You may put on a few pounds, but it should limit you from gaining too much excess fat and allowing a good amount of growth. Besides, that muscle you gain is going to help you trim the fat off if and when you decide to reduce your calorie intake for a bit.

Is creatine good and safe for building muscle?

So I like to workout and was wondering if I could or should use some natural muscle building products to help me build more muscle. I am kind of skinny, but muscular too and I would like to gain some more weight (muscle).Did or does anyone take creatine? Does it work? I know you have to workout too when taking it. What are the pros and cons when using creatine?
Also if I take creatine then stop will my muscles go away or something?

I would say so. You will probably get a lot of mixed answers. I am currently on creatine, and find it very helpful. Essentially what it does is produce more ATP (technically it actually converts more from ADP, but we won’t get too into the scientifics), which is what your muscles use for energy when enough oxygen is not available. So really it is essential to anaerobic exercise. This means you can do more reps, which will give you a better work out, break your muscles down more, and build you up bigger and stronger. Creatine also lets your muscles absorb a ton of water, which makes them look larger. The only problem with creatine is the fact that it has given many people kidney problems. But there is an easy solution to this . . . DRINK A TON OF WATER! And I do not mean just your eight glasses a day. I mean 2 gallons a day! No joke! It will be good for your kidneys, fill your muscles up, flush fat and toxins out of your body (making you look more cut and ripped), and is just healthy in general. So all in all, creatine is wonderful if you are willing to put the work into it. Just make sure to keep your muscles fueled with a mass amount of protein. At least 150 grams a day, but aim for more! To end this long summary I will say that creatine is the most studied muscle enhancer on the market. It is not a drug, and would not be legal if it were bad for you. Your body will not stop producing creatine naturally if you stop taking it. That is testosterone and steroids. So it is very safe. Take 5-10 grams of creatine a day. Hope this helps. Peace.

Does anyone have a good muscle building routine?

Could anyone share their muscle building routine with me? I cant seem to be consistant with my weight training, or routines i make up. Thanks!

Hey mate,

It’s good that you’re taking the initiative to look for advice. Sometimes when you’re working out on your own, there are things like diet, sets vs reps and amount of rest you should take that no one has a clear answer for.

It’s actually sometimes counter-productive to "make up" your own muscle routine. Sure, when you’re starting off, you may see gains, but you will notice that your body will "plateau off", whether it’d be in weight, muscle size, etc. In that case, even if you work out longer, you might just be wasting your energy and burning off muscle, not building it.

This leads me to say that it’s always best to seek advice from someone who knows what they’re talking about. Generous personal trainers are hard to come by, your mates who work out might seem like they know what they’re doing, but if they haven’t studied anatomy or nutrition, they’re no better than you. Don’t get me started about the muscle industry, either.

I do have a selection of the most effective muscle routine programs for you. I hope you find one which will help you reach your muscle building goals!

Best of luck,

Cheng.

How effective is DHEA for muscle building?

Anyone taken in pill form, and if so what strength (mg) and did you notice an increase in muscle building?

Not very effective. Don’t believe the hype! It raises testosterone, but to an unnoticeable effect.

Anyone have any good muscle building tips?

Which muscle building supplement worked best for you?

What results did they give you etc? im wanting to buy a muscle building supplement and would like to know which is the best. thanks.

Protein supplements are important since most people don’t get 1+ grams per pound of bodyweight like they’re supposed to, to build muscle. I like optimum 100% whey after I workout for quick absorbtion and optimum casein protein before I go to bed to slowly absorb as I sleep. Other than getting protein I say Gaspari Size-On is one of the best single supplements out there.

Should i stick to my muscle building diet 7 days a week?

I have just started a strict, high protein muscle building diet this week, however i was wondering if i should continue to eat the same amount on the 3 days that I don’t go to the gym? It almost seems as if i should consume less on these rest days, or maybe just eliminate a protein shake???

Any suggestions are appreciated!!! Thanks!

If you are not doing physical exercise, then eat less. Definitely drop the protein shakes. they’re loaded w/ unneeded calories.

Is soy protein as good for building muscle as whey protein?

I need to lose weight but I don’t want to lose muscle so I need to increase my intake of protein. Whey protein powders have more fat than soy powders so i’d prefer to stick with soy as long as the muscle building benefit is close to equal.

I have to go with whey because it is so convenient and digested quickly. You can find some great chemical free whey products minus the fillers and additives.

What muscle building program is best?

As part of a new years resolution i have decided to buy a muscle building program but i have narrowed it down to 3, Vince delmonte, Sean something and jason ferrugia. I have read over a dozen reviews on all 3 and cant figure out which is best. Any tips?

Avoid the gimmicks mate. A basic 5×5, 3 day split consiting of mainly compound exercises will pile on the mass

what is a good muscle building diet for someone with fruit allergies?

yeah, i know at the end of the day building muscle comes from protein, and taking in more carbs then you’re burning off. but i need health stuff to snack on in between the more protein-based meals.. being allergic to fruit makes it hard to find a healthy snack to have, instead of resorting to something with a lot of sugar/fat in it. what are some quick and easy snacks i can make that are healthy, and also taste nice? cheers.

Ok, so you understand that fruit is not required to build muscle at all. So the simple answer to your actual question is "then don’t eat fruit – it won’t affect your muscle building at all".

The slightly more advanced answer would be to substitute veggies for fruit. Might depend on your allergies. All fruits? Some fruits? Fruits and veggies too?

But it sounds like what you are really asking is what should you snack on if you are trying to build muscle.

Well, there the answer is "don’t snack". Eat 6 actual meals a day (possibly small meals depending on your size and goals). But by a meal, I mean a lean protein and a carb or a lean protein and a fat.

For "small" meals that are convenient, how about
- almonds, a glass of milk and some celery
- a glass of milk, a cold chicken breast you cooked the night before, and a carrot
- a low-fat, low-sugar yogurt with grape nuts cereal
