Does the intake of more protein significantly enhance muscle growth?
I suppose that I get an average amount of protein from my current diet and I am gaining muscle through working out. I know that protein is good for generating muscle mass but how much should I take in to actually make a difference, or does it make a difference at all?
It can, but it can also over tax your kidneys and create many other problems that you don’t want to have. The key is to eat "complete" proteins and not just protein. Your body processes protein according to a "complete" protein "digestion curve." If you eat Jello for instance, that is one single amino acid and by eating it, it depletes your body of protein and can make you protein deficient. EGGS are the standard that all proteins are measured against because eggs contain the best configured amino acid configuration that most closely fits your ideal protein digestion curve.
Any excess protein you eat goes into storage as Saturated Fat. Protein is also used to make antibodies, enzymes, etc., so it’s much more than just muscle building. The key to building good quality muscles is to have a good balance of fats, carbs, and protein. Your body works much more efficiently when you do that. If you do what some lunatics are promoting to eat only egg whites and not the whole egg, you are actually depleting your body of good protein from the imbalance of amino acids. The yolk contains 1/2 of the proteins in an egg and all the vitamins and minerals. These people that tell you not to eat eggs due to the saturated fats are just simply ignorant of nutrition. To demonize saturated fats is ludicrous. Why would a mother’s body make milk for a baby that contains over 55% saturated fat if it were bad for you?

What supplement should I take to gain alot more muscle other that protein and creatine?
I have been working out consistently for about 1 year, and I have seen some great results in my muscles, but I was wondering if there is another formula or supplement that I could take to help get my muscles bigger. Right now I take in alot of protein and I drink protein shakes, and some times I take creatine too, but if you know of something else that would help me other than steroids that would be great thank
What you are doing sounds great already. I might add Arginiine and glutamine. I was able to go from 135 lbs to 175 lbs in one summer. I ate like a horse, made sure I ate at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, and I used Mike Mentzer High Intensity training routines (AKA heavy duty).

Now here is my whey protein schedule
Right out of bed 50 gram shake/smoothie
Immediately after workout 50 gram shake/smoothie
Right before bed 50 gram shake/smoothie
Then sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night, I will go to the kitchen and have another 50 gram shake/smoothie.
This blows up recovery and puts the mass on quick!

u find your weight in KG (if u use lbs to measure weight divide your weight in lbs by 2.2) ok so your answer is your weight in KG. u multiply this number by .8 if u are lazy and not active, by 1.4 if you exercise and by 1.8 if you are trying to gain serious muscle and/or exercise like a MANIAC. the answer is how many grams of protein u need in a day. despite what some people say 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is WAY too much. your body cant break it down well and it can in the long run cause liver damage. good luck

Protein shake is for people that lift weights and need to SUPPLEMENT with the amount of protein they are already getting from food. If your friend has no intention of lifting weights the only good protein shakes will do will give him a gut. Just drinking protein will NOT give him more muscle.

Take like half a scoop when you wake up and half a scoop after gym. Remember to increase you calorie intake aswell, those muscles need energy to keep em running. so eat Oats for breaky, and eat at LEAST one meat meal a day ie. Chicken breast, lean meat…For carbs aka energy i like to eat wholegrain pasta, brown rice, oats, wholemeal bread with eggs. You will be suprised how much stronger u get by eating well…. If you’re drinking a protein shake as a meal replacement, yes, it could help some. You would want to choose one with lower carbohydrates and less overall calories. If you’re just adding it on top of an otherwise not-so-healthy lifestyle, it’s not going to do much for you at all.

So long as you and he understand that muscle does not burn fat you’re fine. The minute he gets it into his head that if he eats more protein in order to burn fat then I give you permission to smack him real hard. Beyond that, have him take the protein because it will help him build muscle.
At this point I would suggest that 3 times a week you do full body weight training. Focus on the core and the stabilisers as much as the "vanity muscles". A swiss ball and some weights make a great way to work both at the same time provided he keeps the right form.
Once he loses some weight and gains strength then you can focus on split training. There’s no point in running before you can walk.
